Aim:
AIDS stigma has implications for reducing barriers to HIV testing, preventive behaviors, obtaining risk reduction information; thus, it is important to understand of the prevalence and severity of AIDS stigma in rural areas.
 
Method / Issue:
The goal of this project was to evaluate the prevalence and severity of AIDS stigma among residents and health care professionals in the state of Wyoming. Data was collected annonymously using Hereks AIDS Stigma questionnaire (Herek & Capitanio, 1993).
 
Results / Comments:
Results will be discussed in terms of levels of stigma across Wyoming and their implications for HIV risk reduction and treatment.
