Aim: The world is beginning to focus children as a key under-serviced group
within the epidemic, but we still have a problem. Good evidence is in short
supply. In order to find the best models, we must have sufficient evidence,
and proper critical analyses of the many funded projects. The challenge is
that even some of the best projects lack the capacity to do proper
evaluation, or lack the energy and resources to be properly reflective.
This satellite round-table discussion will bring together funders,
academics, and project managers to discuss new approaches to support
front-line service providers to beef up the evidence base.
| |
Method / Issue: Proposed Discussants Include:
i) A speaker from the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa to discuss the existing evidence base
ii) A funder: how funders can help their grantees/partners to develop the capacity to be self-evaluative.
iii) An academic who will discuss: how do we survey the field/ the
literature to see what is the evidence base.
iv) A project manager from the South: Commenting on the different
approaches, and what might be needed to support grantees.
