Aim:
This symposium is a collection of evidence focused on social and behavioral change (SBCC) interventions that successfully changed behaviors related to HIV prevention, treatment, and care. Speakers from all over the world will discuss the details of interventions and national programs implemented in their respective countries, as well as impact data arising from program evaluations. Through this collection, it will become clear that SBCC is crucial to slowing the spread of HIV and getting those who are infected into treatment.

Method / Issue:
Communication is essential in preventing, treating, and caring for those with HIV. However, there are still skeptics who question whether social and behavioral change communication (SBCC) can have a real effect on the HIV epidemic. In a time when funding streams are tight and greater emphasis is placed on biomedical interventions, funders require clear evidence of impact.
