  Aim:
To facilitate a creative process of learning through developing resources and resourceful ideas pertaining to work in the AIDS sector.

  Method / Issue:
A life-size board game that engages 2-4 teams of people in a scenario problem solving endeavor. While a limited number of people can stand on the board, an audience can engage and learn in the process. Teams are chosen randomly to facilitate interaction and diversity. A game lasts between 60 and 120 minutes with opportunity for further discussion and sharing afterwards.

  Results / Comments:
A creative participatory learning workshop that offers opportunity for sharing ideas and resources, and networking across organisations in the HIV/AIDS and development sector. The game is aimed at mid- to top-level employees with some experience of working in an organisation.

  Discussion:
The STOP AIDS NOW! funded South African Partnership Joint Learning Project involved 10 locally based organisations with a focus on Children and AIDS. Through our collaboration in a joint learning project various learnings emerged as valuable lessons that are worth sharing with others in the AIDS and Development sector. Various scenarios have been constructed, from our experience in the field, that require solving through strategic use of gathered Resource Cards (also drawn from our experiences). At each stage of the game an interactive learning is facilitated. The playing of the game facilitates networking with others in the sector, and generating new learning through sharing of ideas, resources and experiences.
