Aim: This session aims to provide an overview on the evolving use of HAART in the treatment of HIV-infected adults. The issue of when to start HAART in treatment-naive adults will be addressed. Current use of HAART agents in resource- rich and resource- deprived settings will be discussed as well as recent data around Anti-retroviral monitoring. The talk will also review the role of HAART in the prevention of non-AIDS events. The new Anti-retroviral pipeline will be summarised as well as novel ways of using current agents.
